feather boa

Pearl's finished head-dress worn here as a boa.
Puerto Natales - Provincia de Última Esperanza, Region XII CHILE (octubre de 2016)
The above batch of feathers Pearl found during one session of "feathering" as she calls it. This involves combing through the tall grasses of the three pastures behind our house. Thanks to Dances with Wolves my daughter has a head-dress addiction. To make this one, she spent an hour looking at pictures on the internet of native American head-dresses, cutting handles off our re-usable shopping bags, feathers started flying in the kitchen, and silicone madness followed.
