ready to launch

By the end of February 2017, our voyage planning was finally complete. Paperwork and permits for the Falklands were in order, all systems - rigging, sails, electronics, engine, charging systems, fuel, provisioning, water, safety - were checked.  Our bottom was cleaned, route was planned and we had been obsessively watching the weather.

The plan was to sail non-stop from Ushuaia to Punta del Este for our first shake-down outside of the protection of the channels. Anasazi Girl & our crew were ready.

micalvi yacht club before our first departure in nearly 3 years

Cape Horn & Antarctic expedition boats side-tide at the Micalvi. Anasazi Girl is in the middle of three rows of boats, five boats in front, four boats behind, and two boats on either side. The inlet is narrow, so a bit of logistics and organizing needed to move her out of the our berth for our first trip since our mast was broken.
