Alejandro Nestor Caparrós, artist (& head park ranger at Parque Nacional Los Glaciares), burnishes a wood-carved map with pyrography tools in his home workshop. Caparrós hand-crafts much of the signage in the park.
In this image he is wearing a very old, much loved, Patagonia, Inc. jacket that Thomas Ulrich gave him. Caparrós says that it's a very special piece because Ulrich wore it during the first winter ascent of Cerro Torre's West Face in 1999.

A big thanks to Cameron Tambakis (Photo Editor) and the rest of the Patagonia, Inc. Photo Department for keeping us afloat while we are "shipwrecked" here in Chile!
